Basmathi Rice - 2 cups
Tomatoes (chopped) - 3
Onions (chopped) - 1
Green peas (optional) - 1 tbsp
Pudina leaves - 1 tbsp
Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp
Ginger (grated) - 1 tsp
1 tsp red chili powder
Oil as needed
Salt as needed

Cloves - 6
Cinnamon Stick - 1
Cardamon or elachi - 2
Whole bay leave - 1-2
Pepper - 5
Corriander Seeds - 1 tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp

Method
- Grind the tomatoes, pudina leaves, coriander leaves, ginger, chilli powder and all spices except jeera to a paste.
- Wash and soak the rice for 10 mins.Meantime, add oil in a pan.
- When oil, is hot, add jeera, onion & fry untill the onions turn translucent.
- Add the grinded paste & fry in oil until the water content evaporates & oil separates from the mixture.
- Now add rice and mix well.Transfer the contents to a pressure cooker and add required (3 cups for basmthi rice) and pressure cook it for 1 whistle
- Garnish it with coriander leaves, gently mix and serve it hot with raitha of your choice
Tips
- Instead of spice you can use 1 and 1/2 spoon of Biryani/ Puloa Masala.
- Instead of grinding tomatoes to paste you can chop the tomatoes and add.
